The Carel Show. Twenty-one years on the air.

Chokarella is wordplay — read aloud in Haitian Kreyòl, it sounds like "Show Carel La" — "The Carel Show." That phrase has been carrying this morning program through every name change for over two decades.

• June 2005
  Carel begins hosting a morning program on Radio One Haiti called The Morning Show.
• 2009
  The program is renamed Chokarella — the wordplay that hides Carel's name in plain sight.
• 2018
  Chokarella becomes a digital media platform. To stop the show and the platform from being confused, the program reverts to The Morning Show — now with three co-hosts: Alexandro, Dashca, and Joanna.
• September 2020
  After Peyi Lock — the mass mobilization against President Jovenel Moïse — and the arrival of COVID-19, the security situation in Haiti makes it impossible to bring co-hosts and guests safely into the studio. Carel continues solo from a remote studio he built himself, and the program is renamed Carel In The Morning.

  Mon–Fri, 6–9 AM EST. Built for Haiti and the diaspora — recorded from anywhere. 30,000+ daily listeners on FM in Haiti, plus a global stream reaching 96 countries.
